I had two bittersweet Christmases in Ho Chi Minh City. Bitter because I was so far from my family, sweet because I was in an amazing and exotic city with many new adventurous friends (and Darling Man for the second one.)
Downtown Saigon was filled with flashing lights (sponsored by Heinekin one year), balloon sellers, santa suits and packed packed PACKED with motorbikes. Even though it was well over 30 degrees, kids of all sizes were dolled up in santa suits.
The kids were so cute it was all I could do not to eat them up!
And then there were the crazy Christmas decorations…
Oh, I’m homesick for Ho Chi Minh City this Christmas.

Just goes to show that Christmas can be fun. And the little ones are really cute. Their serious demeanor is so touching.

Oh the kids in Santa suits are way too cute! I didn’t realize there would be so many Christmas decorations in Ho Chi Minh, interesting. When I lived in Thailand, Christmas was celebrated as a party, rather than actual Christmas. Happy Holidays!

Adorable photos! Interesting how the notion of Santa is becoming universal.
